Artist statement:
"Akış" (meaning flow in Turkish) is the first solo piano composition that I’m putting out into the world. It is inspired by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s psychological concept of "flow", a mental state of experience when one is involved in what they are doing and loses track of time, a concept similar to ‘being present' or ‘living here and now.’ The piece uses melodic patterns from Turkish music that were embedded in my subconscious.
